Peering Policy

datamena operates a global carrier network and is present in Europe, Africa, Asia and Middle East. datamena is part of the EITC group and has its main activities in UAE/ME. datamena covers the internet transit free zone parts of UAE (= off-shore areas). datamena also operates a leading datacenter in Dubai which is located at the IMPZ area. datamena handles AS57187 (AS-DATAMENA).

Requirements and Information

  • datamena accepts peering requests when peeringdb.com records are set and ipv6 is possible to peer too. datamena is working on base of industry standards and will respect and await MANRS compliant behavior and proper filtering.
  • We cannot peer with existing BGP transit downstream customers of datamena/AS57187.
  • Our geographic area is mainly UAE. We do expect a peering configuration ending up in a geographic shortcut between you and our network. Peers in Europe or Asia should be built/signalized in a way to allow proper East/West routing to/from Middle East.
  • We appreciate if you have a looking glass or RIPE atlas anchor in use and stated in you peeringdb records to better verify results of the peering doing.
  • We do not demand minimum traffic or special traffic ratios or multiple sessions but operating a selective policy and decide on a case-by-case basis. We will not do or sign written peering agreements.
  • We do expect your peering links to be not utilized at max load and/or having ongoing packet loss.
  • We prefer direct sessions, even if routeservers might be used on our side too.

Procedure

  • Requests should be sent to: peering[at]datamena[dot]net
